A man who stalked TV and radio personality Kate Thornton, bombarding her with thousands of messages and waiting for her at her workplace, has been given a sentence. Kate, a former X Factor host aged 52, received 6,000 texts and emails from James McCamley, 53, causing her distress. McCamley, who resides in Scotland, traveled to London to Kate’s workplace, bringing gifts like wine and waiting for her for an extended period.
After this incident, the station increased security measures and circulated his photo among staff to prevent any encounters. The court was informed that the women involved are seeking restraining orders due to the persistent and obsessive nature of the stalking. McCamley, from Glasgow, admitted to two stalking charges and was given a 12-month community order by the court in North London.
