Nicki Minaj proclaimed her unwavering support for Donald Trump during a joint appearance at a recent event, asserting herself as his top admirer regardless of any backlash she may face. The renowned rapper shared the stage with Trump after making a donation to “Trump Accounts,” a program similar to a Child Trust Fund in the United States. Seizing the moment, Minaj defended the President against what she labeled as “bullying” and “smears.”
Addressing the audience, Minaj expressed, “I proudly declare myself as the President’s number one fan, and that sentiment will remain unchanged.” She further stated, “Criticism and negative remarks do not deter me. On the contrary, they fuel my determination to show even more support for him, inspiring all of us to do the same.”
Minaj’s comments come amidst heightened tensions surrounding the Trump administration following a tragic incident in Minnesota where two individuals were fatally shot by ICE. Trump faced persistent heckling at a recent rally in Iowa, dismissing the demonstrators as “paid agitators.” Emphasizing her stance, Minaj declared, “We will not tolerate any form of bullying or smear campaigns against him. He possesses significant backing, and divine protection is with him. Amen.”
The “Trump Accounts” initiative provides a $1,000 grant to every newborn, requiring parents to establish an account that is then invested in the stock market by private entities. The accumulated funds can be accessed by the child upon reaching 18 years of age. Trump hailed the program as one of the most groundbreaking policy concepts to date.
Parents have the option to contribute up to $2,500 annually from pretax income, akin to retirement accounts. Contributions can also come from employers, relatives, friends, local governments, and charitable organizations, with an annual cap of $5,000, excluding government and charity donations from the total.
Children born before 2025 do not qualify for the $1,000 incentive, but parents can still initiate accounts for them as long as they are under 18. The maximum pretax investment for these children remains at $2,500.
Following Minaj’s departure from the stage, Trump humorously remarked that her appearance was “more entertaining than having [Treasury Secretary] Scott Bessent up there.”
