A former nanny who worked for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to care for their son Archie has shared her first meeting experience with the royal couple. Lorren Khumalo, a pediatric nurse and consultant, was tasked with looking after the young prince in the initial months after his birth.

During their stay at Frogmore Cottage before relinquishing their royal duties to relocate to the United States, Lorren vividly remembered her first encounter with the Sussexes. She described feeling at ease with Prince Harry’s informal greeting upon her arrival at their Windsor residence.

Recalling the moment on The Breakfast Club with Zenzele Ndebele, Lorren detailed her outfit choice for the meeting, aiming for a presentable appearance. Despite not wearing makeup, she opted for a dark outfit and kitten heels. She emphasized her authenticity, expressing confidence in her abilities without pretense.

Lorren humorously mentioned receiving a speeding ticket en route to Frogmore and was surprised by Prince Harry’s casual attire of jeans and a t-shirt, walking barefoot due to the heat. She humorously questioned the need for a curtsy to which Prince Harry’s protection officer assured her of his amiable nature.

Upon meeting Meghan, Lorren was struck by her beauty and the relaxed atmosphere of the encounter, contrary to her initial expectations of formality. Lorren had previously shared insights into her time as the royal nanny in a Netflix documentary, highlighting the couple’s hands-on parenting approach and the warmth she experienced in their home.

Meghan praised Lorren’s care for Archie, mentioning a moment when she suggested a traditional Zimbabwean method of carrying the baby. The former nanny’s dedication to both Archie and the couple left a positive impression on Meghan and Prince Harry.
