Stunning images shared on Reddit provide a peek into an abandoned motel in the US that closed down due to hurricane damage. The unique property is completely painted in turquoise, both inside and out.

A Reddit user posted several photos of the location, noting, “There’s not much left there, but it’s interesting to see.” The pictures show litter strewn across the parking lot, with interior shots suggesting the building is still in relatively good shape.

Although there is scattered bedding and debris in one hallway, many parts of the building look similar to when it was operational. A photograph of a guest bedroom reveals two well-maintained twin beds with beige walls and walnut furniture. Even a microwave in the room matches the motel’s turquoise color.

From the rooftop images showcasing the surroundings to a shot of graffiti on an exterior wall, the images capture the motel’s eerie atmosphere. Another photo through a window appears to show a reception area with brochures and a water bottle, while a storage room photo reveals a cleaning trolley and bags of laundry.

Reddit users identified the site as the Makai Beach Resort in Ormond Beach, Florida. The property sustained significant damage during Hurricane Milton in October 2024 and has remained closed since. Recently, it was listed for sale for $13 million.
