Jesy Nelson, a former member of the girl group Little Mix, has made significant changes in her life to provide a better future for her twin daughters, Ocean and Story. Born prematurely at 31 weeks, the twins were recently diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Type 1.
In response to their diagnosis, Jesy has joined forces with other parents of SMA children to advocate for the NHS to implement a simple heel prick test for early detection. Additionally, Jesy relocated to Cornwall before her daughters were born, aiming to create a tranquil environment for them to grow up in.
This move, however, meant Jesy was six hours away from her mother, Janice White, who noticed early signs of potential issues with the twins. Despite Jesy’s initial dismissal due to their premature birth, Janice persisted, expressing concerns about the babies’ limited movement.
In an upcoming documentary, “Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix,” set for release on February 13, Jesy has been candid about recent events, including her separation from fiancé Zion Foster, with whom she shares her daughters. The couple decided to part ways following a challenging period, prioritizing their daughters’ well-being and co-parenting responsibilities.
