Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, who has faced disgrace, was apprehended on his 66th birthday. The former prince was taken into custody by Thames Valley Police after a convoy of unmarked police cars entered the Sandringham Estate where Andrew currently resides early this morning. At least six unmarked police vehicles and officers in plain attire were observed arriving at Wood Farm around 8 am. Following the arrest of the ex-Duke, the police force issued a statement.
Thames Valley Police announced, “As part of an ongoing investigation, we have arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are conducting searches at properties in Berkshire and Norfolk. The individual is currently in police custody.”
The Assistant Chief Constable of the force, Oliver Wright, stated, “After a comprehensive evaluation, we have initiated an investigation into the alleged misconduct in public office. Preserving the integrity and impartiality of our inquiry is crucial as we collaborate with our partners to probe this alleged offense. While acknowledging the substantial public interest in this matter, we will provide updates when appropriate.” Andrew has consistently refuted all accusations against him.
A group of plainclothes police officers entered Andrew’s temporary residence on the secluded Sandringham Estate, with some officers seen carrying what appeared to be police-issued laptops. Previously, Thames Valley Police mentioned that they were examining allegations suggesting a woman was trafficked to the UK by Jeffrey Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew, and that he disclosed sensitive information to the convicted sex offender during his time as the UK’s trade envoy.
In a prior statement, the police force confirmed, “We have received the report and are evaluating the information according to our standard protocols.”
The National Crime Agency (NCA) announced its support for police authorities to conduct a thorough and independent evaluation of the details disclosed in the Epstein files.
