“Chinese Firm Gifts £20M Cash to Employees at Lavish Celebration”

Published on

In a remarkable display of generosity, employees at a Chinese firm, Henan Kuangshan Crane, were treated to a lavish end-of-year celebration where £20 million in cash was spread across 800 banquet tables. The lucky workers were allowed to take home as much money as they could carry, creating a scene of joy and excitement under the bright lights of the gala.

At the event, one employee managed to walk away with an impressive $13,000 (£9,600) in cash, as reported by Korean newspaper Chosun Daily. The company’s owner, Cui Peijun, addressed the crowd, expressing his desire to change things up by offering cash instead of traditional gifts like necklaces and rings. Peijun, who owns 98.88% of the crane firm operating globally, explained his decision to distribute cash directly to employees rather than through bank transfers, emphasizing the personal touch.

Henan Kuangshan Crane, which operates in over 130 countries, had a profitable year in 2024, with a net profit of approximately £28 million. In a show of appreciation, Peijun allocated $17 million back to the workers. This act of generosity is not new to the company, as in 2023, the top 40 performers received a share of £6.3 million, with the best salespeople awarded bonuses exceeding £550,000 each.

Peijun’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond his company, with initiatives like distributing money to female workers on International Women’s Day and supporting university students from low-income families. His dedication to uplifting others and creating opportunities for those in need reflects his belief in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering future generations.
