The Ministry of Defence has initiated an investigation to determine if Jeffrey Epstein utilized RAF bases for flights aboard his ‘Lolita Express’ jet within the UK. This action follows ex-Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s submission of a detailed dossier to six police forces, prompting scrutiny into whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had connections with the late convicted sex offender.
Defence Secretary John Healey has personally mandated a review of all MoD records, prompted by newly disclosed flight logs from the Epstein Files indicating a total of 90 flights to and from British airports between the early 1990s and 2018. An MoD spokesperson confirmed the review aims to uncover any information pertaining to Epstein’s activities for appropriate disclosure to the authorities, with full support pledged for ongoing police investigations and sympathy expressed for Epstein’s victims.
A spokesperson from the MoD previously stated that it is standard procedure for private or commercial aircraft to utilize RAF airfields for a fee covering associated costs. Essex Police have also confirmed their assessment of claims suggesting victims of Epstein were transported to London Stansted Airport via the private terminal.
Out of the 90 documented flights, around 15 are believed to have occurred after Epstein’s conviction for child sexual offenses in 2008. The aircraft, registered as N908JE, was reportedly used to shuttle women and girls between Epstein’s properties in various locations, including New York, Palm Beach, and the US Virgin Islands.
Flight records reveal multiple trips to the UK, with visits to smaller airfields near royal residences in England and Scotland. Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the need to withhold flight logs from UK and RAF airports until ongoing police inquiries related to Epstein are finalized, stressing the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed before determining further actions.
Andrew and former US ambassador Lord Peter Mandelson were recently detained and released on bail due to their alleged connections with Epstein.
