Two women have been charged in connection with the discovery of a deceased man inside a vehicle parked in Helston, Cornwall. The investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police followed reports of welfare concerns on December 18, 2024, leading to the identification of the deceased man as Glen Manders, a 66-year-old from Somerset.

The women, identified as Dinah Manders, 88, from Exeter, and Rosemary Manders, 53, from Ilminster, were taken into custody on suspicion of murder, wilful neglect of an individual lacking mental capacity, and impeding a lawful burial. Although the murder and wilful neglect charges have been dropped, both women are now facing charges related to obstructing a lawful and respectful burial of a deceased person.

Both individuals have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear at Truro Magistrates’ Court on March 26. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the charges against the suspects, emphasizing that the investigation stemmed from their initial welfare inquiries in the Helston area in December 2024. The police identified the deceased man as being in his 60s from the Avon and Somerset region.
