An NHS physician found himself stranded following an explosion while en route to the airport. Muhammad Irfan, a 31-year-old doctor from Colchester, Essex, was stuck in Dubai after missiles launched by Iran targeted the city.

Muhammad, who was on a layover to catch a flight to London Stansted Airport, arrived in Dubai on February 28, coinciding with the commencement of the attacks. “I couldn’t believe that the conflict had reached the Gulf, including Dubai,” expressed the doctor.

Upon receiving a warning from his brother in Pakistan about escalating tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, Muhammad was shocked as he had not been aware of any potential conflict before traveling to Dubai.

While leaving Dubai airport for his hotel, Muhammad heard a loud explosion, later learning that the airport had been hit. His flight was initially delayed at 2:30 pm before being ultimately canceled, leaving him stranded in Dubai away from his wife and child in Ireland.

Expressing his disbelief, Muhammad mentioned, “Authorities have provided us with temporary accommodation at a hotel. I never imagined this region would be affected by such conflicts.”
