A delighted father who emerged victorious on ITV’s Tipping Point used his winnings to fund IVF treatment for his wife, resulting in the birth of triplets.
Jamie McEvoy, aged 30, secured a prize of £3,000 in an episode that aired recently but was recorded three years ago. At the time of filming, Jamie and his wife Hayley, who met during their time at Manchester University, already had a one-year-old son named Otis and were undergoing IVF to expand their family.
Before the TV show, Jamie learned that their latest IVF attempt had failed, and due to financial constraints, they were hesitant to pursue another round. However, he decided to allocate his winnings towards another IVF cycle to give Otis a sibling. Jamie described the experience of being on television for the first time as enjoyable, particularly praising the host, Ben Shephard, for creating a supportive atmosphere.
The couple endured additional rounds of treatment, amounting to a total expenditure of £30,000, until Hayley discovered she was pregnant with triplets from a home test in late 2024. A subsequent scan confirmed the presence of three babies in her womb.
Hayley expressed her surprise upon learning about the triplets, as medical professionals initially painted a bleak picture, cautioning about potential risks. Despite the challenges, she remained positive throughout the process. Jamie, who was away at the time of the revelation, was initially shocked but drew strength from Hayley’s optimism.
Their triplets, comprising a girl named Nova and two boys named Jasper and Billy, were born healthy on June 4, 2025. Ben Shepherd, the show’s host, shared his excitement for the family on social media, emphasizing the significance of such heartwarming stories within the show’s history.
