The campaign, known as #ShineALight, took place on 1 March to mark the beginning of Brain Tumour Awareness Month. Well-known personalities such as Alfie Boe, Frank Bruno, and Fearne Cotton joined forces to raise awareness about the urgent need for increased funding for brain tumor research.

These public figures, including Kelsey, lit candles at 7.30pm in remembrance of those affected by brain tumors and to emphasize the critical necessity for more research funding to save lives. Kelsey, who lost her husband Tom on March 30, 2022, shared a heartfelt post on social media about The Wanted star to coincide with the event. She expressed the challenges of this month as it marks the anniversary of losing her beloved husband and highlighted the ongoing battle against brain cancer, which disproportionately affects young individuals but receives minimal funding compared to other cancers.

Fearne Cotton, who underwent surgery to remove two tumors in her jaw, also showed her support for the cause. Alfie Boe, a patron of the charity, honored his late father, while Sarah Beeny paid tribute to her mother and stepmother who both succumbed to brain tumors. Additionally, boxing champion Frank Bruno MBE shared a poignant message in solidarity with 10-year-old Stanley Batton, who is bravely fighting a brain tumor with limited treatment options.
