Mojtaba Khamenei, the second eldest son of Ali Khamenei, has been elected by Iran’s Assembly of Experts as the upcoming Supreme Leader, as per Iran International. Reports suggest that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) exerted pressure on the assembly to designate a successor to the late Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike. Israeli officials were anticipating the announcement of Mojtaba Khamenei as the successor, according to Israel’s Ynet news.
