A daughter’s relentless efforts to locate her mother’s missing remains, who was murdered and discarded in a ditch, have incurred substantial financial costs. Jamie Lynn Donavon McDonald, 62, vanished on May 1, 2024, and parts of her body were discovered on June 14, 2024, close to her residence in Homosassa, Florida. It is speculated that her dependency on prescription drugs due to a previous back injury led her into a dangerous situation.
Charged with the murder of Jamie and another individual, Kenneth Zickendrath, 68, are Luequita Sclesky, 32, and her husband, Duane David Sclesky, 38. Allegedly, they utilized stolen details to access bank accounts and are awaiting trial without a set date.
Hope Yates-McDonald, 32, daughter of Jamie, has gone to great lengths to recover her mother’s missing bones. Through self-taught scuba diving, the use of detection dogs, and a specially trained otter, she has managed to retrieve 15 of her mother’s bones. Hope, a radiology student from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, expressed her unwavering dedication to finding closure and honoring her mother’s memory.
Despite the challenges faced, Hope remains determined to locate all of her mother’s bones, believing that this will aid in the grieving process. She has invested significant personal resources, including selling her home and starting a GoFundMe page to support the recovery mission. Hope’s relentless pursuit of closure and justice serves as a testament to her unwavering love for her mother and her commitment to bringing her home.
