Notable updates include the dispatch of four extra Typhoon jets to Qatar for enhanced defense operations, alongside Wildcat helicopters with anti-drone capabilities to Cyprus following a recent drone incident at RAF Akrotiri.

HMS Dragon, a type 45 warship, will also be deployed to the Mediterranean next week to reinforce security measures. Additionally, repatriation efforts are underway, with a Government-chartered flight from Oman departing after a delay, and plans for more evacuation flights to ensure the safety of British nationals in the region.

Starmer highlighted the massive evacuation task surpassing the scale of previous operations, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety of all affected individuals. Addressing concerns over the UK’s relationship with the US, Starmer confirmed ongoing collaboration with American counterparts to safeguard mutual interests and security in the region.

Regarding military decisions, Starmer clarified the timeline of approvals for utilizing British bases, emphasizing a consensus reached on Sunday. He emphasized the importance of community cohesion and outreach to both Jewish and Muslim groups to prevent divisive narratives amid the escalating crisis.

Starmer reassured the public on economic impacts from the conflict, condemning Iran’s disruptive actions on global oil and gas facilities. He pledged support for affected industries and allies, affirming the Government’s steadfast plans for the economy, defense, and energy sectors.
