According to the Kansas City Aviation Department, the incident was acknowledged, with reports of the occurrence surfacing around 11:15 am local time on Sunday. As a precautionary measure, sections of the Airport Terminal were cleared, and Airport Police are collaborating with the FBI to assess the credibility of the potential threat.
While incoming flights are still permitted to land, departures have been temporarily halted, as confirmed by a spokesperson from KCI speaking to Fox 4 News Kansas City. Passengers noted that certain flights were stranded on the taxiway, and others were redirected after the incident unfolded.
