Former US President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing his team to investigate allegations surrounding the relationship between his dismissed immigration chief and her rumored partner. Trump recently terminated Department of Homeland Security leader Kirsti Noem, a staunch supporter of the MAGA movement, following various controversies, including fatal incidents involving ICE officers. After ousting Noem, Trump apparently shifted his focus to her top advisor and alleged secret companion, Corey Lewandowski.
Reports suggest that Trump sought information on whether the alleged lover, also identified as a “special government employee” to Noem, personally benefited from a substantial $200 million advertising campaign prominently featuring Noem’s image. The President grew increasingly suspicious of the ad campaign, which seemed to have contributed to Noem’s downfall at the DHS.
According to sources, a White House official disclosed that Trump repeatedly inquired about Lewandowski’s involvement in the campaign, expressing particular interest in the ads. During congressional hearings, the expensive ad initiative became a focal point just before Noem’s dismissal. Trump had expressed displeasure upon learning about the substantial project, claiming ignorance of its details.
Allegations arose regarding Lewandowski’s behind-the-scenes influence, as he served as a “special government employee” at DHS and unofficially acted as Noem’s chief of staff. Some agency personnel suggested that the alleged lover wielded excessive power beyond his designated role.
Noem, who is married to insurance agent Bryon Noem and has three children, faced inquiries about her relationship with Lewandowski during a House Judiciary Committee session. While she dismissed the accusations as baseless, she avoided directly addressing the affair allegations, previously denied in 2021.
Lewandowski vehemently denied any financial gain from the $200 million ad campaign in his statement to NBC News. The ads, featuring Noem at Mount Rushmore discussing immigration issues, were produced by Safe America Media under a lucrative no-bid contract and subcontracted to Strategy Group, led by Ben Yoho, married to Noem’s former aide. Another firm, People Who Think, tied to Lewandowski through a political operative, secured a substantial contract.
