A recent video captured the dramatic moment an Iranian vessel exploded in the Strait of Hormuz after being targeted by US forces. The US military took action against a fleet of Iranian ships that were deployed to place sea mines in the crucial oil shipping route. Footage released by US Central Command showed an Iranian ship being struck by a projectile, leading to a fiery explosion. Another video depicted a ship near a port being hit, causing a massive fireball.

In a social media post, former US President Donald Trump announced the destruction of multiple mine-laying vessels, with more to follow. Subsequently, CENTCOM confirmed the destruction of 16 such vessels.

Trump had demanded Iran to remove all mines from the water, warning of severe consequences if they failed to comply. Meanwhile, the UK Maritime Trade Operations center reported a cargo ship being hit in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in a fire that forced the crew to evacuate.

Iran, known for targeting ships in the region, did not initially claim responsibility for the attack. Additionally, the UKMTO reported another attack on a vessel in the United Arab Emirates.
