Video footage shows armed police responding to a classroom incident where a teenage girl was reportedly stabbed at a school. Panicked students sought shelter under desks and texted their parents for help during the unsettling situation. In an exclusive video obtained by the Mirror, students can be heard expressing confusion and fear as firearms officers gathered outside a classroom window.

Following reports of the girl’s injury, students were instructed to hide and silence their phones while teachers secured classroom doors. Subsequently, a 16-year-old boy was apprehended before 10:30 am. The incident unfolded at Thorpe St Andrew School in Norwich, prompting around 100 parents to gather on-site after learning about the event through social media.

Police drones were deployed to assist in locating the suspect, who allegedly fled by jumping over a fence before being captured. The apprehension took place around 11:30 am, following over an hour of the suspect being at large. A 15-year-old boy is currently under investigation for grievous bodily harm with intent, while the injured teenage girl, a school attendee, received treatment for minor injuries.

Parents and teachers recounted the tense moments, with one teacher mentioning the unforeseen lockdown practice. Concerned parents, such as Adam Howlett and Shantelle Taylor, expressed their distress over the incident and the communication surrounding it. The school, which received a positive Ofsted rating in 2025, assured that safety protocols were swiftly enacted, with a focus on supporting the affected students.

Authorities indicated that the incident is unrelated to a previous hate crime report at the school. The Broad Horizons Education Trust, overseeing Thorpe St Andrew School, acknowledged the distress caused by the event and emphasized ongoing support for the school community in the aftermath.
