Louis Theroux, a well-known documentary filmmaker, recently revealed the most disturbing individual he has encountered during his decades-long career. Among the various controversial subjects he has explored in his films, Theroux highlighted his experiences with the infamous British personality, Jimmy Savile, whom he now considers the worst person he has ever met.

Theroux initially delved into Savile’s life in 2000 with his documentary “When Louis Met Jimmy,” unknowing of Savile’s heinous acts at the time. Years later, in 2016, he revisited the topic in “Louis Theroux: Savile,” reflecting on the shocking revelations that emerged about Savile’s criminal behavior.

In an interview with LadBible, Theroux explained why Savile stands out as the most repugnant individual he has encountered. He expressed his disbelief upon later discovering Savile’s history as a serial sex offender, emphasizing the dissonance between his initial interactions with Savile and the subsequent revelations.

Reflecting on his interactions with Savile, Theroux also shared his feelings of guilt and responsibility for not scrutinizing Savile more closely during their encounters. He admitted to allowing himself to view Savile in a friendlier light than warranted, only to be confronted later by the reality of Savile’s abusive actions.

Despite his regrets, Theroux emphasized the importance of focusing on the survivors of abuse and potentially aiding them in holding individuals like Savile accountable. His introspections on this matter coincided with the launch of his latest project, “Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere,” available on Netflix.
