Tragically, all six crew members aboard a KC-135 refueling aircraft that crashed in western Iraq have died. This incident brings the total US service members killed in action during Operation Epic Fury to 13. The deployment of thousands of Marines, multiple warships, and F-35 fighter jets to the region aims to strengthen the existing forces. The Marine expeditionary unit is prepared for ground operations if necessary, although officials have not confirmed whether such actions will be taken.

The Tripoli Expeditionary Strike Group being sent includes the USS Tripoli, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the guided-missile cruiser USS Robert Smalls, and the guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta. President Trump expressed skepticism about an imminent uprising against the Iranian regime, asserting he will instinctively know when the conflict with Iran should come to an end.
