A 16-year-old boy, full of life and joy, was riding his scooter one ordinary day, unaware it would be his final ride. Sadly, Mikhail Cuba’s life was abruptly ended, allegedly by a school bully named Elijah Emmas, who now faces charges of first-degree murder and a potential life sentence. The incident took place in a neighborhood in Orlando, Florida, where Emmas is accused of intentionally striking Mikhail with his car after spotting him on his scooter.
Mikhail had reportedly been subjected to relentless bullying at school, leading his family to resort to homeschooling to escape the torment inflicted by a group of students, including Emmas. Initially investigated as a hit-and-run, the case gained attention when surveillance footage indicated a deliberate act.
Emmas, identified as one of the bullies targeting Mikhail, is currently held in a juvenile detention center. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office took over the case and charged Emmas with first-degree murder following the new evidence. Mikhail’s grandmother, Ectasy Mooty, condemned Emmas as a “sick individual” and vowed to seek justice for her grandson through the legal process.
Described in a touching obituary as a kind and intelligent young man, Mikhail’s untimely death was followed by another tragedy as his mother passed away from an accidental overdose months later. Emmas awaits his next court appearance while Mikhail’s family continues to seek closure and justice for their beloved grandson.
