At least 10 police vehicles and an air ambulance have arrived at a bustling street following a collision involving two vehicles that resulted in a person being urgently taken to the hospital.
Specialized paramedics have been dispatched to West Denton Way in Newcastle, where a significant portion of the road has been blocked off by law enforcement. The closure was initiated after a two-vehicle crash occurred just before 5pm, as confirmed by Northumbria Police.
A patient was swiftly transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle for medical care. “We were alerted at 4.35pm on Sunday, March 15, to a report of a traffic incident on Northumbria Walk, Newcastle,” stated the North East Ambulance Service.
“We dispatched an ambulance team, a specialized paramedic, and an advanced paramedic practitioner to the location. One individual was taken to the RVI for further medical attention.”
A spokesperson from Northumbria Police stated, “Shortly before 5pm today (Sunday), we were informed of a two-vehicle collision in the Northumbria Walk vicinity of West Denton.
“Emergency services are present, and the road is presently shut down. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes if possible.”
