Gwyneth Paltrow faced a wardrobe mishap risk as she graced the Oscars 2026 red carpet in a daring white gown featuring sheer slits on both sides. The actress nearly revealed more than intended as she hurried through the Dolby Theatre venue.
The 98th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, airing on ABC and streaming on Hulu on Sunday, March 15. Conan O’Brien hosted the event for the second consecutive year, with the ceremony witnessing numerous iconic and historic wins.
During the event, footage captured Gwyneth lifting the lengthy hem of her dress while moving swiftly, inadvertently exposing more skin than planned.
The 53-year-old star, alongside Jessie Buckley and Rose Byrne, graced the red carpet wearing a strapless ivory silk Giorgio Armani Privé gown with high cut-out slits on each side, concealing sheer trousers underneath. She complemented her look with a Tiffany and Co. jewelry set.
Subsequently, Gwyneth presented the first-ever award for best casting, honoring Cassandra Kulukundis for “One Battle After Another,” a collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson.
Despite receiving nine Oscar nominations, the film “Marty Supreme,” featuring Gwyneth and Timothée Chalamet, did not secure any awards. Chalamet, up for his third Best Actor Oscar, lost to Michael B. Jordan for his role in “Sinners,” marking Jordan’s first Academy Award win for portraying twins Smoke and Stack.
Michael became the sixth Black man to win the Best Actor Oscar, joining esteemed actors such as Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith, and Halle Berry.
Accompanied by his girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the ceremony, Timothée Chalamet was seen sitting with her during the event, though they did not walk the red carpet together. A lip-reader claimed there was tension between the couple, with Kylie allegedly referring to Timothée as “being a child.”
The awards show also featured unexpected reunions, including casts from “Bridesmaids,” “Avengers,” and “Moulin Rouge,” as well as a surprise appearance by Anna Wintour presenting awards with Anne Hathaway.
