A British tourist tragically lost his life during a vacation in Bali after being swept away by a strong rip current. The 39-year-old individual was reportedly hit by a wave and carried off by the current while swimming at Nyang-Nyang Beach on the island.
The lifeless body of the tourist was discovered by shocked beach visitors near the shore in Pecatu village around 7:45 am local time on Sunday. Two other tourists were seen entering the water to retrieve the man’s body. Despite the efforts of paramedics who were called to the scene, the man was pronounced dead before being transported to a local hospital for further examination.
According to Nyoman Sidakarya, the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office Head, a coordinated rescue operation involving various agencies, including the Water Police, South Kuta Police, and local lifeguards, was carried out following a report from the Pecatu community officer about the body found at sea.
Following the rescue operation, the British tourist’s body was taken by medics to Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for verification and examination. Authorities mentioned that the cause of his death is still being investigated, and efforts are being made to reach the Foreign Office for a statement on the incident.
