“Nursery Worker Jailed for Toddler Sex Offenses”

Published on

A man who worked at a nursery and committed multiple sexual offenses against toddlers has been sentenced to prison. Nathan Bennett, 30, a former employee at Partou King Street nursery in Bristol, was found guilty of various charges, including rape and assault, involving five boys aged two to three years old. He had previously admitted to similar offenses against four of the children when they were two years old.

At Bristol Crown Court, Bennett, residing in Corston, Bath, was given a 24-year prison term with an additional six-year extended license period. The prosecution highlighted the significant premeditation involved in his crimes.

During sentencing, Judge William Hart labeled Bennett as an “incorrigible and dangerous pedophile.” The judge expressed how the children at the nursery appeared happy and innocent in a secure environment, unaware of the danger posed by Bennett’s predatory actions.

Concerns were raised by parents and staff about Bennett’s behavior towards the children, leading to his arrest after being caught on CCTV committing inappropriate acts. Testimonies revealed how Bennett displayed concerning behaviors, such as sitting children on his lap for extended periods and showing territorial behavior towards certain children and their parents.

In court, evidence included video interviews with the affected children and their parents detailing the devastating impact of Bennett’s actions. Bennett claimed he was replicating past abuse and denied having a sexual interest in children.

Parents of the victims expressed the profound emotional turmoil caused by Bennett’s actions, highlighting the loss of trust and safety for their children. Bennett’s defense attorney mentioned his troubled upbringing and expressed his remorse for the harm caused.

Apart from the prison sentence, Bennett was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. Authorities and legal representatives emphasized the severity of Bennett’s crimes and the need for justice and safeguarding measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
