Television star Harry Hill recently recounted an incident where his joke involving Jamie Oliver went too far. Harry confessed to having a falling out with the famous chef over a parody sketch of one of Jamie’s cooking programs.

In the sketch, Harry mocked Jamie’s Ministry of Food series, which focused on his ‘pass it on’ initiative set in Rotherham. The show aimed to elevate the Yorkshire town into Britain’s culinary capital by teaching eight individuals how to prepare simple, fresh meals in 2008. The goal was for these eight participants to then share their newfound cooking skills, promoting the preparation of wholesome dishes in homes across the country.

Harry’s parody of the program, labeled the ‘turn it off’ campaign, humorously suggested that viewers should simply switch off the show altogether. However, Jamie did not appreciate the joke and found it distasteful.

In an attempt to make amends, Harry shared that he produced a new segment resembling an apology after being contacted by the producer about Jamie’s displeasure. He created a video of himself in his kitchen singing “I Just Called To Say I Love You” and even displayed one of Jamie’s pans, trying to extend an olive branch to the offended chef.

Despite the conflict, Harry revealed his efforts to reconcile with Jamie, showing a willingness to mend the relationship.
