TV host Ruth Langsford revealed that she and Eamonn Holmes were overcome with emotion and shed tears during a heartfelt farewell. The couple, once a beloved pair on British television, shocked fans with their split in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage and nearly three decades together.

Their only son, Jack, born in 2002, left for university in September 2020, sparking a wave of emotions for Ruth and Eamonn. Ruth proudly described Jack as inheriting their talents, as he embarked on his studies in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Salford.

In her recent memoir, “Feeling Fabulous,” Ruth shared the emotional moment of bidding farewell to Jack as he embarked on this new chapter. The sight of Jack waving goodbye from his university dorm window brought tears to both Ruth and Eamonn’s eyes as they drove away.

While Jack is Ruth’s sole child, Eamonn has three children from his previous marriage. Ruth openly discussed the challenges of coping with the separation in her book, acknowledging the initial struggle and the deep sense of loss felt after spending 26 years together with Eamonn.

Since their split, Ruth has chosen to keep her dating life private, while Eamonn has moved on with Katie Alexander, a relationship counselor 23 years his junior. Ruth hinted at a potential interest in dating younger men during a conversation with her friend Rylan Clark, suggesting a new direction in her personal life.
