“Family Mourns ‘Zest for Life’ Victim Found in Wheelie Bin”

A man whose body was found in a wheelie bin has been identified in a photo for the first time, with his grieving family describing him as having a vibrant zest for life. Thomas Niven’s family expressed their devastation, highlighting his uplifting charm that could brighten anyone’s day. The discovery of Niven’s body took place in a park off Daimler Road in Coventry on Friday, March 13.

Following the incident, a man and woman in their 40s, along with a man in his 20s, were apprehended on Sunday in Blackpool by the police on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender.

Thomas Niven’s family is appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the 37-year-old, known affectionately as Tom, to come forward to aid the ongoing investigations supported by West Midlands Police specialist officers.

In a poignant tribute, Niven’s family emphasized his infectious love for life, describing him as a source of strength for his loved ones. They lamented his untimely and tragic departure, highlighting his caring nature, fondness for family, and playful demeanor. The family expressed their pride in having had Tom in their lives and vowed to seek justice for him.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole from the police’s Major Crime Unit acknowledged the public’s assistance in the investigation and encouraged anyone with additional information to reach out to the authorities.
