“Elisabeth Moss Stars in New Apple TV Thriller”

Published on

Elisabeth Moss, well-known for her roles in popular TV series like “Mad Men” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” returns with a captivating new thriller. Apple TV’s adaptation of Araminta Hall’s novel, “Imperfect Women,” centers around the murder of a woman, leaving her close friends Mary (played by Elisabeth Moss) and Eleanor (portrayed by Kerry Washington) devastated.

During the investigation, Mary and Eleanor uncover hidden secrets of their late friend Nancy (portrayed by Kate Mara) that she had kept concealed. As fans of thrillers immerse themselves in the world of “Imperfect Women,” there is heightened interest in actress Elisabeth Moss, known for her success in hit shows.

Elisabeth Moss gained global recognition in 2007 for her role in the iconic period drama “Mad Men,” but her connection to the music industry has always been present. She is the second cousin, once removed, of ABBA legend Bjorn Ulvaeus, tracing back to her Swedish maternal lineage.

Despite their familial ties, neither Moss nor Ulvaeus have publicly acknowledged their relationship. Moss’s most notable performance to date has been as June Osborne in the acclaimed dystopian series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” based on Margaret Atwood’s bestselling novel.

Initially hesitant to take on another significant project following her eight-year tenure on “Mad Men,” Moss eventually accepted the role in “The Handmaid’s Tale” after learning of potential alternative casting choices. Reflecting on her decision on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Moss expressed her determination to portray the character, emphasizing her strong connection to the role.

In a brief marriage to Fred Armisen, known for his role in “Wednesday’s Uncle Fester,” which ended after eight months, Moss described the relationship as challenging and traumatic. While Armisen acknowledged his shortcomings in the relationship, Moss maintained her privacy on the matter.

In January 2024, Moss announced her pregnancy on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, welcoming her first child in March 2025 without disclosing details about the baby’s father. Despite the challenges, Moss embarked on filming “Imperfect Women” shortly after giving birth, expressing gratitude for her journey through pregnancy.

With several upcoming projects, including the crime thriller “Conviction,” where she plays a defense attorney entangled in a blackmail scheme, Moss continues to diversify her acting portfolio. Additionally, she is involved in projects like “Last Night at the Lobster” and “She Will Rise,” showcasing her versatility across different genres.

For viewers interested in the suspenseful drama, “Imperfect Women” is now available for streaming on Apple TV.
