Man Who Deployed Tear Gas in Hospital Gets Over 3 Years

Published on

A man who caused a hospital shutdown by deploying tear gas has been apprehended on CCTV footage and sentenced to over three years in prison. The incident occurred at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on October 10, 2025, resulting in emergency services responding to reports of an altercation and the assault of two individuals.

Piotr Huczynski, aged 37, admitted to various charges, including assault and reckless discharge of a firearm by using a corrosive substance, during a court appearance in January. He received a 44-month jail term and a six-year driving ban. The released CCTV footage reveals the disturbing attack at the hospital.

In the video, Huczynski can be seen using CS spray on a medic and a security guard in the hospital’s A&E unit, following his irritation with prolonged waiting times. The outburst led to the hospital’s evacuation and closure for three hours, with Huczynski visibly agitated as he was escorted out.

Despite being barred from driving until 2034, Huczynski fled the scene in a vehicle after brandishing CS spray at hospital staff and making a swift exit. Inspector Katy Townhill, in response to the guilty verdict, condemned the incident as reckless, resulting in injuries to two individuals. She emphasized the seriousness of such violence in healthcare settings and assured that justice would be served for the perpetrator.
