Two children were hospitalized after plunging from a balcony in southeastern Ireland. The incident occurred at an apartment in Waterford on Friday, March 20, when a glass pane on the balcony’s side gave way. A three-year-old boy fell approximately 20 feet, with his seven-year-old sister also falling in an attempt to save him. Both children were promptly taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment following the falls.
Authorities, including Gardaí, responded to a medical emergency at the complex. A Garda spokesperson stated that the incident was addressed by multiple agencies at a residential property in Mount Suir, Waterford, just before 11 am on the same day. An investigation into the matter has been initiated by Waterford City and County Council.
