Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong have divided the ashes of their dog, Hurley, equally following a prolonged period of discord. The former couple, who ended their 11-year marriage in 2018, have managed to co-parent their Labrador despite their strained relationship.
After Hurley passed away recently, Ant, who was with the dog during his final moments, and Lisa, who were embroiled in a contentious £30 million divorce battle, each sought solace abroad following their pet’s death. Ant spent time in Portugal while Lisa traveled to Los Angeles. They arranged for Hurley to be cremated during their time away and then collected their respective portions of the ashes to scatter them at their residences.
According to a source from the Daily Mail, the decision to split Hurley’s ashes evenly was mutual and deemed fair by both parties. The ashes will be buried separately to allow Ant and Lisa to regularly pay their respects to Hurley. The beloved Labrador, instrumental in Ant’s recovery from addiction, was euthanized at the age of 12 due to severe illness agreed upon by Ant and Lisa.
Despite their split, Ant and Lisa remained devoted to Hurley, opting to share custody even post-divorce, although they reportedly avoided face-to-face interactions during handovers. Ant disclosed his emotional farewell to Hurley on a podcast with his long-time friend and co-host Declan Donnelly, expressing deep sorrow over the loss and acknowledging the ongoing reminders of Hurley in his daily routines.
Lisa and Ant’s marriage, which began in their teenage years, came to an end in 2018 after facing challenges, including their struggle to have children. The couple’s emotional attachment to Hurley transcended their separation, highlighting their continued commitment to honoring his memory.
