BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay has issued a strong caution to drivers regarding a troublesome section of the M40 near his residence after a severe traffic disruption.

During his recent broadcast on Friday, March 20, the presenter drew attention to the hazardous conditions on the Buckinghamshire stretch of the M40 where heavy congestion had brought traffic to a standstill.

Reports indicated a complete hold on all traffic on the southbound M40 between Junction 3 and Junction 2, resulting in stationary vehicles.

Upon learning of the situation, Vernon promptly identified the infamous spot well-known for causing significant delays and potential accidents.

He emphasized the need for caution, particularly at a valley section where trucks struggle to maintain speed due to the incline, leading to significant traffic build-up.

The 51-year-old highlighted the road’s challenging design and the difficulties faced by heavy lorries, which often result in risky situations for motorists.

Expressing concern, Vernon urged drivers to navigate the area carefully, maintain distance from vehicles ahead, and remain vigilant due to frequent incidents in the valley.

Apologizing for the interruption during the traffic update, the TV and radio personality stressed the issue’s personal importance given its close proximity to his home.

He acknowledged the challenging nature of the road, citing his familiarity with the location as his residence is situated nearby, allowing him to witness the traffic issues regularly.

Continuing his plea for cautious driving, Vernon emphasized the importance of staying alert, maintaining safe distances, and being mindful of the road conditions in the valley section.

Vernon and his wife, television host Tess Daly, reside in the affluent town of Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, having moved to the area over two decades ago from London.
