NATO fighter jets were deployed for the second time today as a response to Russian Shahed drones activity in western Ukraine, according to Poland’s operational command.
The incident occurred after a Russian attack on Lviv, Ukraine, where a Shahed-type drone hit a UNESCO site causing an explosion and injuring 13 individuals. This prompted NATO warplanes to be scrambled in neighboring Poland, with both Polish and allied air forces now operating in the region.
The escalation led to the heightened alert status of fighter aircraft, helicopters, and ground-based air defense systems in the area. Earlier in the day, NATO jets were also scrambled over Poland due to missile threats from Russian attacks on Ukraine.
Denis Kazansky, a Ukrainian war commentator, condemned the strikes on Lviv, describing them as attacks on historic and architectural landmarks. He criticized Russia, calling it a destructive and barbaric state incapable of creating anything positive.
The situation remains tense as military operations continue in the region, with concerns over further escalations. Stay updated with the latest developments by following reputable news sources.
