“UAE Bans Iranians Amid Middle East Flight Disruptions”

Published on

The United Arab Emirates has implemented a ban on Iranians entering or transiting through the country. This decision was announced by major airlines, including Emirates, Etihad, and FlyDubai, on April 1. Recent disruptions in flight operations across the Middle East have been linked to Iran’s actions targeting countries in the region following joint US-Israeli strikes since February 28.

Iran’s ongoing targeting of the UAE has contributed to the escalating conflict in the region. While entry regulations in the UAE can sometimes be unclear, the three airlines have collectively enforced the new restrictions. Notably, individuals holding 10-year Golden Visa residency permits are still permitted to enter the country.

Authorities have refrained from issuing an official statement on the matter. In a related development, Dubai has closed down the historic Iranian Hospital and Iranian Club, both of which have historical significance dating back to the time of the shah.

In a separate incident, a drone attack orchestrated by Iran and its allies resulted in a fuel tank explosion at Kuwait International Airport, causing a significant fire. The state-run KUNA news agency reported that the attack occurred early on Wednesday, with no immediate reports of injuries. Firefighters are actively engaged in containing the blaze.

This is not the first time Kuwait International Airport has been targeted by Iran during times of conflict.
