A man experienced severe discomfort and ended up in the hospital after using a public restroom in Stoke. Philip Johnson, 70, was at Central Forest Park on Easter Monday with his family when he encountered a disturbing situation in the restroom. He described how a cubicle door suddenly gave way, causing him to sustain a back injury. Fortunately, no one else was harmed in the incident.
Philip narrated the incident, stating that the heavy cubicle door detached and struck him, leading to the collapse of the adjacent cubicle. He had to maneuver his way out of the situation, feeling fortunate to escape unscathed. Following the ordeal, he sought medical attention at Haywood Hospital, where it was determined that he had suffered soft tissue injuries to his back muscles.
Expressing concern over the state of the facilities, Philip criticized the condition of the toilets provided by Stoke-on-Trent City Council as unacceptable. He emphasized the need for immediate action to address the maintenance issues and ensure the safety of public facilities, especially in family-oriented spaces like the park. Despite attempting to contact the council to report the incident, Philip expressed frustration over the lack of response and called for urgent renovations to the restroom facilities. The Mirror has reached out to the council for a statement on the matter.
