A man of British origin is at the focus of an alleged series of violent incidents characterized as “pure acts of evil.”
Olaolukitan Adon Abel, aged 26, has been arrested following a series of brutal assaults on Monday that resulted in the death of two women and left a man critically injured.
The killing of DHS worker Lauren Bullis and the shootings of the two other victims on Monday prompted Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin to express concerns. Mullin highlighted that the 26-year-old suspect, Olaolukitan Adon Abel, obtained US citizenship in 2022.
Mullin stated, “On Monday, a DHS employee, Lauren Bullis, was brutally shot and stabbed to death by Olaolukitan Adon Abel, a 26-year-old from the United Kingdom, who was naturalized by the Biden Administration in 2022. Since President Trump took office, @USCIS has put in place measures to prevent individuals with criminal backgrounds and lacking moral character from becoming citizens.”
Mullin added, “He [Olaolukitan] is accused of murdering @DHSgov employee Lauren Bullis by shooting and stabbing her while she was walking her dog. He has also been detained for the killing of an unidentified woman whom he allegedly shot outside a Checkers, before randomly shooting a homeless man multiple times outside a Kroger in Brookhaven.”
“These despicable acts have deeply affected our Department, and my thoughts are with the victims’ families.”
The Department of Homeland Security expressed sorrow in a statement, confirming the passing of Lauren Bullis, a valued member of the Department’s Office of Inspector General team.
Brookhaven Police Department verified that all three attacks were linked and issued a statement saying, “The Brookhaven Police Department has arrested and charged Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, of Atlanta with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony in connection with the earlier shooting at Cherokee Plaza.”
“On April 13, 2026, around 1:59 a.m., Brookhaven officers responded to the Cherokee Plaza Shopping Center where a 49-year-old male had been shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.”
“With the help of the Brookhaven Police Department’s Operation Plugged In Camera Network and collaborative law enforcement efforts, detectives were able to swiftly identify the shooter.”
“Adon Abel was apprehended without incident by the Georgia Department of Public Safety in Troup County. Further investigation revealed his involvement in other shootings in unincorporated DeKalb County.”
“The investigation is ongoing, and the Brookhaven Police Department is cooperating with the DeKalb County Police Department and state authorities to thoroughly examine all aspects of these incidents.”
