A tragic incident occurred over the weekend resulting in the death of a six-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle. The incident took place on Anchor Drive in Ellesmere Port around 11.40am on Sunday, April 19. The child was hit by a black Infiniti FX30D and was rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Specialist officers are providing support to the boy’s next of kin who have been informed of the heartbreaking news. Following the incident, a 48-year-old local man was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving, and driving without a valid license. He has since been released on bail.
