A 19-year-old woman tragically passed away following a dog attack at her residence, sustaining severe traumatic injuries, as revealed in an inquest. Jamie-Lea Biscoe was discovered by her father in an upstairs room at the house in Leaden Roding, Essex, where court co-ordinator Matthew Austin provided details. The teenager had suffered significant neck injuries during the incident on April 10, suspected to have been caused by one of the family’s dogs. The cause of her death, as determined by a forensic post-mortem examination, was listed as “neck injuries pending investigation of histology and toxicology.”

Essex senior coroner Lincoln Brookes disclosed that Essex Police had requested to halt coronial proceedings due to an ongoing criminal investigation. Expressing condolences, Brookes stated, “I do offer my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Jamie-Lea Biscoe on what can only be described as a tragic loss of life.”

Following the incident on April 10 at Long Hide in Leaden Roding, where Ms. Biscoe was found deceased, a 37-year-old man from Dunmow was arrested on suspicion of being in control of a dangerous dog that caused fatal injuries. He has been released on bail until July as investigations continue. The dog, identified as a family pet believed to be a lurcher cross, has been taken into custody, with tests underway to confirm its specific breed.

Essex Police previously reported their response to the incident at Long Hide, Leaden Roding, and the subsequent arrest of the man linked to the dog’s actions. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Jamie-Lea tragically lost her life at the scene.
