Tributes are pouring in for a six-year-old boy who tragically lost his life after being struck by a car in Cheshire. The driver has been taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

The incident occurred on Anchor Drive in Ellesmere Port when the child was hit by a black Infiniti FX30D around 11:40 am on a Sunday, as confirmed by Cheshire Police. Responding swiftly, police and paramedics met the boy and his family en route to the hospital near Whitby Sports and Social Club. Despite their efforts, the child succumbed to his injuries at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The family has been notified, and they are receiving support from specialized officers.

A 48-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, facing allegations of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving, and driving without a valid license. He has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Identified as Kanan-Jay, the boy is being remembered fondly in a fundraising appeal on JustGiving. The heartfelt message urges support for the grieving family to give Kanan-Jay a fitting farewell. The appeal has already raised over £9,000, with tributes of flowers and messages left at the scene.
