Arriving in Kyiv via train after a fatal drone strike in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, where one worker lost their life, he was warmly welcomed by Ramina Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the executive director of the Open Ukraine Foundation.

Addressing global leaders in Kyiv, the prince is anticipated to portray Ukraine as the “frontline of democracy itself.” He is set to denounce Putin and Russia’s war crimes as deliberate and systematic, emphasizing that the conflict in Ukraine is about principles, not just land.

Prince Harry expressed his admiration for Ukraine’s resilience in the face of adversity, highlighting the country’s ongoing battle against Russia. His trip marks his third visit since the start of Putin’s invasion in February 2022.

During his stay, the former British soldier plans to meet participants of the Invictus Games in Ukraine, a platform for wounded veterans to recover through sports. He emphasized the importance of connecting with the Ukrainian people and supporting their relentless efforts in challenging circumstances.

Prince Harry’s visit follows his recent trip to Australia with his wife Meghan. The Royal Family, including Prince William, has previously commended Ukraine for its strength and determination, with Prince William even participating in a military display to deter Russian aggression towards NATO.
