A man facing accusations of trying to assassinate Donald Trump has confessed to being ready to shoot through crowds to reach his intended targets, as revealed in a disturbing manifesto sent moments before the incident. Cole Tomas Allen, the suspected shooter at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, reportedly detailed his plan to execute the shooting at the Washington Hilton, specifying the weapons he intended to use and the extent to which he was willing to go.
In a particularly alarming excerpt, he stated, “In order to minimize casualties I will also be using buckshot rather than slugs (less penetration through walls). I would still go through most everyone here to get to the targets if it were absolutely necessary (on the basis that most people chose to attend a speech by a pedophile, rapist, and traitor, and are thus complicit) but I really hope it doesn’t come to that.”
The manifesto, allegedly sent to family members just 10 minutes before the shooting, outlined what Allen referred to as his “rules of engagement,” with senior government officials as his main targets, as reported by the NY Post. The 30-year-old also specified, “Administration officials (not including Mr. Patel): they are targets, prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest,” and mentioned that law enforcement would only be targeted if deemed necessary.
Experts have expressed grave concerns over his willingness to harm bystanders, emphasizing the severe danger faced by all individuals at the event. Additionally, Allen attempted to rationalize his actions by stating, “I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes,” in an apparent reference to Trump.
The suspect included apologies to his family, colleagues, and strangers caught up in the attack, acknowledging his lack of expectation for forgiveness and expressing remorse for the situation. Despite this, the manifesto concluded with a vehement critique of the hotel’s security measures, highlighting his ability to enter armed without raising suspicion.
The attack unfolded rapidly, with the suspect running towards the ballroom before being subdued by security. Although one officer was shot, they survived due to wearing a bulletproof vest, and Trump and other high-ranking officials were promptly evacuated to safety.
Investigations are now focused on analyzing the manifesto, particularly the sections indicating the suspect’s readiness to cause widespread harm, prompting urgent inquiries into how such a meticulously planned attack nearly materialized.
