The Home Secretary has allocated £25 million for security measures following the Golders Green attack, acknowledging the insufficiency of mere words. Shabana Mahmood revealed the funding to safeguard Jewish communities in response to the suspected terror incident in north London.

The funding will focus on enhancing police presence and security around synagogues, schools, and community centers. Ms. Mahmood disclosed ongoing discussions with officials and community representatives to address recent attacks on the Jewish community, with the additional funding being expedited as a response.

During an appearance on Sky News, she emphasized the need for concrete actions, recognizing the heightened fears and concerns within the community. Following the recent attack, Ms. Mahmood expedited decisions on increased funding to ensure the safety and security of the Jewish community.

In a separate incident, two Jewish men, aged 76 and 34, were victims of a terrorist attack, with both currently in stable condition in the hospital. The incident, declared as a terrorist attack, has led Jewish leaders to call for stronger measures against anti-Semitic violence.

Ms. Mahmood hinted at the potential prohibition of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an Iranian military group, amid discussions on new legislation. She assured that decisions regarding designated state-linked groups would be made soon.

The attacker, identified as a 45-year-old British national born in Somalia, arrived in the UK as a child in the 1990s. Police forces nationwide have intensified patrols in response to the attack on the two Jewish men in Golders Green.

These stabbings are part of a series of recent attacks on Jewish establishments, prompting urgent calls for action and criticisms of the Government’s handling of antisemitism concerns.
