“Teen Social Media Influencer Dies of Overdose”

Published on

A teenage social media influencer, known for her appearance on a Channel 5 documentary, tragically passed away due to an overdose while residing in supported housing, as revealed in court proceedings. The inquest into the death of Princess-Bliss Dickson commenced in Essex but was promptly halted to allow the police to investigate the circumstances surrounding her demise.

Princess, aged 16, died in supported accommodation in Waltham Abbey on February 7 of this year. She gained public attention at the age of four when she featured on the 2014 Channel 5 documentary “Blinging Up Baby.” The show showcased mothers who indulged in lavish spending on their children, with Princess’ mother, Sophie-May Dickson, sharing her penchant for pampering her young daughters with pedicures, spray tans, and hair extensions.

During the opening of the inquest at County Hall in Chelmsford, Princess’ family was present to hear Senior Coroner Lincoln Brooke express his heartfelt condolences to them and all who were affected by the loss. Further details about Princess’ passing were provided by Coroner’s officer Matthew Austin, stating that she was residing in private supported housing in Buxton Road, Waltham Abbey, at the time of her death.

A post-mortem examination conducted at Great Ormond Street Hospital attributed Princess-Bliss’ death to acute quetiapine toxicity. Quetiapine is a prescription medication primarily used to treat severe depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The coronial investigation was suspended to prioritize the ongoing police inquiry, with Essex Coroner Sonia Hayes set to oversee future proceedings and review the case intermittently.

Sophie-May, Princess-Bliss’ mother, has spoken out about the cyberbullying her daughter faced online. Essex County Council expressed deep sadness over the incident and emphasized their collaboration with the police and Ofsted as the local safeguarding authority, refraining from further comments as the investigation unfolds.

Essex Police affirmed their active involvement in the coronial process, conducting inquiries to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the teenage girl’s untimely demise, aligning with the established procedures.
