Two flight attendants were apprehended following suspicions about their ability to perform their job responsibilities, as per law enforcement officials. The incident took place at Manchester Airport on Saturday, May 2, when authorities responded to a situation on an arriving flight at Gate 49. The flight’s captain had reportedly expressed concerns that led to the intervention.
Subsequent to initial breathalyser tests showing levels exceeding the permitted threshold for aviation duties, both cabin crew members were detained. Nevertheless, further tests conducted while in custody indicated they were compliant with legal alcohol limits, resulting in their release without any charges.
A representative from Greater Manchester Police stated that officers were called to Manchester Airport on May 2, 2026, in response to doubts regarding the two cabin crew members’ fitness for duty. The individuals were taken into custody after initial tests suggested they surpassed the permitted alcohol limit for aviation duties. However, subsequent tests demonstrated they were within legal boundaries, leading to their release without any legal proceedings.
