Nick Cannon, the 45-year-old TV host, has acknowledged having different standards for raising his 15-year-old twins, whom he shares with Mariah Carey. In a recent revelation, he admitted to treating his son and daughter distinctly, with varying rules based on their gender.

Following his divorce from Mariah in 2016, Nick co-parents their son Moroccan and daughter Monroe. During a celebration for their birthdays last month, Nick confirmed that his approach to parenting his teenage children differs significantly due to their genders.

In a recent interview on the TMZ podcast, Nick discussed his children’s dating lives now that they are 15. He disclosed that while he allows his son to date, he has a contrasting stance when it comes to his daughter, acknowledging the presence of a double standard in his parenting style.

Nick emphasized the need for increased protection when parenting a daughter, expressing concerns about potential risks and individuals his daughter may encounter. He highlighted that safeguarding his daughter is his priority, stating a strong stance against anyone disrespecting her.

Revealing a unique agreement with his daughter Monroe regarding dating, Nick mentioned that she must explain her plans before going on dates, with her twin brother accompanying her for added protection.

Aside from Monroe and Moroccan, Nick is a father to 10 other children from different relationships. Tragically, his son Zen, born to Alyssa Scott, passed away in December 2021 at just five months old.

As the twins marked their 15th birthday, Nick shared glimpses of their Six Flags celebration on social media, expressing his gratitude for being their father.
