They already have a six-year-old daughter, Raddix, and a two-year-old son, Cardinal. Diaz expressed that motherhood is her top priority and the core of her being, although she initially had reservations about having children.

In a 2022 episode of Gwyneth Paltrow’s podcast, Diaz revealed that Paltrow’s enthusiasm for motherhood influenced her. Paltrow, who has two children, Apple and Moses, encouraged Diaz, despite initially doubting her own readiness for motherhood. Diaz acknowledged Paltrow’s support in pushing her towards embracing motherhood, crediting her friend and husband for helping her on this journey.

Diaz had previously shared her concerns about becoming a mother at a younger age and felt grateful for starting a family later in life. She decided to step back from acting in 2015 to focus on building a family after meeting Benji in the previous year. After facing challenges in conceiving, they opted for a surrogate to welcome their daughter when Diaz was 47.

Despite worries about being an older mother, Diaz found solace in connecting with other mothers, even those much younger than her. She expressed her love for motherhood and the joy it brings to her life, emphasizing the importance of staying healthy and vibrant for her children’s sake.
