Adele’s weight loss journey, resulting in a significant seven-stone loss over two years, has not only transformed her physical appearance but also impacted her mindset. The renowned singer kickstarted her transformation by making dietary adjustments motivated by a desire to enhance her health for her own well-being.
In a bid to protect her vocal cords, Adele opted to reduce her daily consumption of sugary tea from 10 cups and cut out alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, and certain types of foods known to affect her voice adversely. Sharing her vocal struggles in a 2011 interview with Australia’s 60 minutes, Adele emphasized the importance of safeguarding her voice after experiencing a vocal hemorrhage.
Prior to her 2016 tour, Adele focused on building her stamina, leading to further weight loss, reportedly exceeding two stone. This transformation was largely attributed to her adoption of The Sirtfood Diet, which emphasizes the consumption of plant-based foods like kale, buckwheat, green tea, and turmeric known for their impact on fat and sugar metabolism.
Apart from dietary changes, Adele incorporated pilates sessions with LA-based instructor Camila Goodis into her routine. Camila, who also trained Robbie Williams’ spouse Ayda Field, highlighted Adele’s commitment to lifestyle changes and the significant role diet played in her transformation.
Adele, openly discussing her dislike for traditional gym workouts, emphasized her focus on strength-building exercises rather than weight loss. Her motivation stemmed from a desire to maintain good health for her son, Angelo, especially during challenging times such as her divorce.
Reflecting on her workout routine, Adele credited exercise as a key factor in helping her cope with anxiety post-divorce and regain control over her body. She emphasized the importance of carving out personal time during her day, highlighting the mental benefits of physical activity.
In an interview with British Vogue, Adele clarified that her fitness journey was about building strength and mental resilience rather than just shedding pounds. This holistic approach to health and well-being underscored Adele’s commitment to self-care and personal growth.
