“King Charles Wins Hearts with Congress Address”

Published on

The King received praise for his address to Congress as he and Queen Camilla honored emergency responders at the initial garden party of the season at Buckingham Palace.

Despite the overcast skies, the 8,000 attendees on Wednesday were in high spirits, dressed in vibrant attire and national garments, coming together to relish tea, cakes, and sandwiches at the event attended by Princess Anne, the Duke, Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke, Duchess of Gloucester at the King’s official London abode.

Upon their arrival, the royals proceeded through the crowd, greeting guests, inquiring about their work, interacting with service dogs, and guiding attendees towards the tea area.

During the mingling, The King was commended for his recent speech at Congress during his US state visit. A guest expressed admiration, stating, “I thoroughly enjoyed your speech in America. It was fantastic and very amusing.” Charles responded with gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much.”

While the royals engaged with the guests, a particular star stole the show: Vegas, a two-year-old Hearing Dog for the Deaf. The playful dog amused everyone by jumping up at three senior royals – Their Majesties and the Princess Royal.

Not only did the charming cocker spaniel get away with it, but it also decided to entertain further by digging up the Buckingham Palace lawn, leaving Princess Anne in stitches and promising not to inform her brother.

The first encounter between The King and Vegas occurred with her owner, Kate Wilson, 52, from Horsham, West Sussex. The enthusiastic pup, without hesitation, jumped up and vigorously licked the sovereign’s hand.

The King seemed unperturbed by the dog’s behavior, petting its head affectionately. “They train hearing dogs as well now? Wonderful,” he remarked.

As Vegas sought attention from The King by standing on its hind legs, he was described as a “very nice” dog, receiving a loving pat from the monarch.

After repeating the same routine with the Princess Royal, Vegas indulged in some lawn excavation. “He seems to be hunting for truffles,” quipped the owner. The King’s sister responded humorously, “Best of luck with that. Inform me if you have any success!”
